{"id":2428,"date":"2023-03-01T09:52:11","date_gmt":"2023-03-01T08:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.qair.energy\/en\/?p=2428"},"modified":"2023-03-01T09:59:30","modified_gmt":"2023-03-01T08:59:30","slug":"mauritius-qair-awarded-four-solar-pv-and-battery-storage-bess-hybrid-projects-totaling-60mwac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oldprod.qair.energy\/en\/mauritius-qair-awarded-four-solar-pv-and-battery-storage-bess-hybrid-projects-totaling-60mwac\/","title":{"rendered":"Mauritius: Qair awarded four Solar PV and Battery Storage (BESS) Hybrid projects totaling 60MWac"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Bambous, March 1, 2023 \u2013<\/strong> Qair, an independent renewable energy producer, announces the signature with the <a style=\"color: #0099ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/ceb.mu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Central Electricity Board (CEB)<\/a> of four power purchase agreements for Renewable Energy from Solar PV and Battery Storage (BESS) Hybrid Facilities.<\/p>\n<p>This investment, worth more than Rs 7 billion (approx. 163 M USD), represents the largest investment in the energy sector over the last fifteen years in the country, and one of the largest in the Indian Ocean.<\/p>\n<p>Totaling 60MWac, the projects, will enter construction phase this year to be commissioned in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The four <em>Stor\u2019Sun<\/em> solar plants located in Trou d\u2019Eau Douce (SS1 and SS2), Balaclava (SS3) and Petite-Rivi\u00e8re (SS4) will integrate large scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to provide a clean and firm renewable power to the grid.<\/p>\n<p>This flexible and scalable technology allows the massive integration of renewable energy on the grid by shifting solar power production for the evening demand peak where traditional solar plant do not produce.
